Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB) in conjunction with the Proclaimers are putting together a team of walkers – 84 in total to walk a total of 500 miles. RNIB are still looking for team members that will walk at either the Glasgow or Edinburgh Great Scottish Walks to complete their team.
Craig and Charlie Reid from the band recently took time out to give their backing to RNIB Scotland's plans. On the day of the walk the team will be warming up with a Proclaimercise at the event and of course, Team Proclaimers wouldn't be complete without everyone wearing the duo's trade mark black rimmed glasses, so the charity are providing a pair of the specs to every member of the team.
Elma Magowan from RNIB Scotland said "Its shaping up to be a fun day for everyone, imagine all the people, adults and kids all walking in the Proclaimer's specs, stepping out to raise some serious money to help over 60,000 people in Scotland who are living with sight loss."
There is also a fun special wee Proclaimers music snippet which can be viewed at http://www.colinusher.co.uk/rnib/
