Nicola Sturgeon and Stewart Maxwell MSP have announced that they will be participating in the Glasgow Great Scottish Walk. They were pictured in their sporting gear with Team GB hockey player, Beijing Olympic competitor and 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games contender, Stephen Dick to promote their involvement in the walk and encourage people to take part for fun, to take exercise, or to raise funds for a chosen community project or charity of their choice.
Of the three distances available to walkers Nicola and Stewart have chosen to complete the 12 mile distance, sponsored by Scottish Slimmers and will be raising funds for the Great Scottish Walk Mascot – which means their fundraising efforts will be distributed equally between over 100 charities who are affiliated to the charitable event including Maggies, Capability Scotland, Clic Sargent, Asthma UK, Cash for kids and Cystic Fibrosis Trust to name a few - http://www.greatscottishwalk.com/charities/index.php?start_letter=1
