Please note: Each event will follow a set procedure and as such, this time line is applicable to Wee walks taking place in Dumfries, Inverness, Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow, Perth, Edinburgh and Galston.

8.00-8-30am
Organisers arrive on site

8.30-10.00am
Venue and course set up / Charities arrive

9.00am
Cadets / Marshalls arrive
Late desk and sign in desk opens.
Refreshments / Food Stalls arrive (Serving 9.30am until 3pm)

9.30-10.00am
First Aiders arrive / Chaplins Disco arrive

10.30am
Pipe Band enter and perform

10.40am
Lord Provost arrives

11.00am
Official Welcome

11.05am
First mascot race (if applicable)

11.15am
First fun run followed by first walk

12 noon
Second mascot race (if applicable)

12.15pm
Second set off time

1.00pm
Third mascot race (if applicable)

1.15pm
Third set off time

Fourth mascot race (if applicable)

The George Watson Pipe Band arrives

Judging of the Fancy Dress competition

John Smeaton – Local Hero – arrives for the walk

Disco Bus and Pipe Band leads parade to Holyrood Park

Lord Provost officially launches the Edinburgh Walk 2008

12 mile walkers leave the venue

6 mile walkers leave the venue

Rolling start of Golden Mile immediately walkers set off. at Meadowbank

First walker completes the 12 miles

Presentation of trophies and prizes by Steven Bell HWL
